{"id":1358,"date":"2018-08-09T00:04:52","date_gmt":"2018-08-09T00:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/3bde.org\/?p=1358"},"modified":"2018-08-09T00:41:57","modified_gmt":"2018-08-09T00:41:57","slug":"were-looking-for-a-few-good-marines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/3bde.org\/backup\/2018\/08\/were-looking-for-a-few-good-marines\/","title":{"rendered":"We&#8217;re Looking For A Few GOOD Marines"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: left;\">Positions Now Open in <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Third Brigade Staff:<\/span><br \/>\nS-2 (Intelligence) Officer and S-3 (Operations) Officer wanted.<\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Applications will close 16 Aug 2018.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The S-2 (Intel) will be responsible for collecting, collating, and disseminating information on events in the<br \/>\nDogs of War\u00a0Area\u00a0of Responsibility (Louisiana and Texas) that may\u00a0be of interest to our units\/Marines.<br \/>\nThis includes,\u00a0 but is not\u00a0limited to conventions, Extra Life events, game days\/gatherings, charity-fundraising<br \/>\nopportunities such as walks,\u00a0marathons, virtual jogging clubs, and\u00a0other\u00a0Star Trek and fandom-centric events.<br \/>\nEvents may be sponsored by (but are not limited to)\u00a0the 501st Legion, the Browncoats (Firefly\/Serenity), the<br \/>\nKlingon Assault Group (KAG), or the Royal Manticoran Navy (Honor\u00a0Harrington Fan Club).\u00a0The S-2 will also<br \/>\naid\u00a0local marines\/units in\u00a0coordinating attendance at events which are not primarily SFMC\/SFI-sponsored,<br \/>\nand will\u00a0report\u00a0the information to the <em>Cry Havoc!<\/em> on a bi-monthly basis; other duties as required may\u00a0be assigned.<\/p>\n<p>The S-3 will be responsible for scheduling, planning, coordinating and arranging SFMC Marine-centric events<br \/>\nwithin\u00a0the\u00a0Brigade AOR (Louisiana and\u00a0Texas). This primarily means the annual Muster and Mess. During<br \/>\nalternate\u00a0years or as required, (for instance, absent a Summit in the Region with which to co-locate the Muster\/<br \/>\nMess),\u00a0 the S-3\u00a0will coordinate, schedule, and arrange Joint Exercises such as Overnight Aboard\u00a0Battleship Texas<br \/>\nor the Wilderness\u00a0Challenge.\u00a0 The S-3 will also report\u00a0scheduling, progress concerning, and details of these events<br \/>\nsuch as pricing, registration deadlines, registration websites and\u00a0venue websites to the <em>Cry Havoc!<\/em> on a bi-monthly<br \/>\nbasis. Other duties as\u00a0required may be assigned.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements are:<\/p>\n<p>Must be a Starfleet Marine in good standing, with the ability and willingness to communicate, via email and other<br \/>\nelectronic means, in a\u00a0timely manner\u00a0(response within 1 Standard Day) using Federation Standard\u00a0vocabulary and<br \/>\ngrammar in both written and oral communications.<\/p>\n<p>Must have\u00a0completed PD-100 with a grade of PASSING or better.<\/p>\n<p>Must be able and willing to use\u00a0official communications channels (Brigade Email lists, Brigade Web Site).\u00a0<strong>Must be<br \/>\nwilling to participate in email lists<\/strong> <strong>and have data associated with the\u00a0position stored<\/strong> according to<br \/>\nRegion 3\/\u00a0Third Brigade data protection protocols.\u00a0<strong>May not use social media posts in lieu of required\u00a0reports<br \/>\nor responses to official communications\u00a0using\u00a0official channels.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For both billets, satisfactory completion of SFI OTS is recommended, as are NCO 100 and NCO 201.<\/p>\n<p>Recommended further courses\u00a0are:<br \/>\nFor the S-2 Billet: PD 120, PD 135, PD 201, PD 205, LD 100, LD 201, AE 100, AR 100, CE 100, IN 100,<br \/>\nIN 151, IN 152,\u00a0IN 201, MO 100, ME 100, MD 100, SO 100, SU 100, XB 101, XJ 101, XK 101, XK 111,<br \/>\nXK 121, XR 101.<\/p>\n<p>For the S-3 Billet:\u00a0PD 120, PD 135, PD 201, PD 205, LD 100, LD 201, AE 100, AR 100, CE 100, IN 100,<br \/>\nIN 151, IN 152,\u00a0IN 201, MO 100,\u00a0ME 100, MD 100, SO 100, SU 100.<\/p>\n<p>Successful applicants may be granted up to 120 days for completion of missing <strong>required<\/strong> courses.<br \/>\nFailure to complete required\u00a0courses will result in\u00a0disqualification for the billet.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdD8aeJc9nZMDDAZYxXd20OdfdOiNP2q2sSI6_MmCwVr9wkow\/viewform\">CLICK HERE TO APPLY<\/a><\/strong><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Include your contact info (Name, unit number, SCC number) and a valid email you check regularly.<br \/>\nList any prior \/ current SFI\/SFMC positions held, and a transcript of your SFI\/SFMC records showing completion of PD100.<br \/>\n(This can be obtained from the Member Eligibility tab in\u00a0the SFI\u00a0database;\u00a0choose &#8220;printable copy&#8221; output, download, and<br \/>\ncopy the applicable sections into your application) and other recommended courses, if applicable.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">If YOU are a dedicated individual with a desire to improve<br \/>\nthe fun and fellowship available to your fellow Dogs of War,<br \/>\nmaybe YOU can be part of\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">the incomparable,<br \/>\noften-imitated, never-duplicated Third Brigade Staff.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">We are Leading the Way!<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Positions Now Open in Third Brigade Staff: S-2 (Intelligence) Officer and S-3 (Operations) Officer wanted.
